A dream of many business owners is that their efforts will create the need for expansion.
Sassy's owner and Delphi resident Ann Hughes introduced her dreams to construction tools when she took on an expansion project at her salon located at 114 N. Washington St.Agrand re-opening was held Saturday for the newly-expanded facility, now triple its original size.
Hughes said she believes in local businesses. She decided to expand instead of move because it was important for her to keep her business local. She purchased all the food and supplies for the salon's grand reopening from local shops.

"I wanted to keep everything downtown and local," she said. "I belive it's very important to offer as much as possible to local customers and help support the local economy."
She said the addition provided room for the salon to become full-service. Six hairdressers, three of whom work with acrylic, offer styling, coloring, waxing, pedicures and manicures.
Additionally, Ki Flynn of Brookston began offering massage therapy at the salon Friday.
Flynn offers deep-tissue, prenatal, carpal tunnel, sports, sea salt glow, hot stone and other specialties.
She was a masseuse in Indianapolis for three years before moving back to Brookston to be closer to family. She is currently taking classes to become an esthetician.
Sassy's is open Monday through Saturday for salon appointments and massages can be scheduled any day of the week.
