Artists' Fair is Sunday inWest Lafayette Thirty-three artists from six counties will display and sell their glass work, clay sculpture, pottery, paintings, photography, jewelry and other artwork at the second annual Art on the Wabash, A Local Artists' Fair, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday on the grounds of Tapawingo Park along the Wabash River in West Lafayette. Admission is free, and free parking will be available in the Wabash Landing Parking Garage for those attending the art fair. "We're showcasing local artists, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy these Indiana artists' incredible creativity and talents, as well as an outdoor event along the Wabash River," said West Lafayette Mayor Jan Mills. Among those participating is Kevin Schnepp of Deer Creek Township. The fair is hosted by the City of West Lafayette and its Parks & Recreation Department. Artists chosen to participate were selected by juror Doug Calisch, a sculptor and professor at Wabash College in Crawfordsville. "With a wide range of artists submitting works for consideration, my role was to reward artists and artwork that has a combination of technical skills, individuality and solid concepts- artwork that is imaginative, based on a strong idea and skillfully executed," he said. "The selected works in Art on the Wabash are examples of accomplished works by established and developing artists." | |||||
