Mary E. Seward

Mary E. Seward, 78, of Flora, passed away at 8:31a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi.

She was born Oct. 16, 1928, in Tipton to Alva O. and Beulah Pfankuche Banta. She was a 1946 graduate of Tipton High School. On Oct. 8, 1949, she married Charles R. Seward in Tipton. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1976.

Mrs. Seward was a former coowner of the Carrollton Inn and former reading aide for Carroll Schools.

Her most recent employment included Dairyland and the former Brethren's Home, both in Flora.

She was a member of the Burlington Church of Christ.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin R. Seward of Rossville and Dale R. Seward of Flora; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora. Pastor Tim Pohlman officiated. Burial was at Beech Grove Cemetery in Sharon.
