Grandparents are Chuck and Cindy Mooney of Bringhurst, Phil and Cindy Jones of Flora, and Donald Yeakley of Kokomo. Paternal greatgrandmothers are Georganna Julius of Flora and Hazel Nickel of Kokomo.

Bill and Andrea Essig Smothers of Delphi are parents of an 8-pound, 9-ounce son, Cooper James, born Aug. 23 at Lafayette Home Hospital. Grandparents are Mary Smothers of Delphi and Richard and Barbara Essig of Fort Wayne.
