New pastoral role

Studebaker
Guy Studebaker began his role as pastor of Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren near Camden July 1. He preached there for several weeks prior to the official start date, including six baptisms he helped perform June 30 in Wildcat Creek.

Studebaker was called to the ministry in 1980 and ordained in 1988. He served at Beech Grove Church of the Brethren in Pendleton, Pyrmont Church of the Brethren and the Indiana Veterans' Home in West Lafayette.

Studebaker and his wife of 30 years, Karen, moved to Carroll County in 1987. Both graduated from SouthernWells High School in Wells County. She is employed at Purdue University. They have two children, Jesse and Geny.

Jesse and his wife, Tammy, have two children, Eryn and Levi, and reside in Buck Creek. Geny is a senior at Rossville High School.

The Studebakers are involved in 4-H locally and statewide. Guy served as rabbit and poultry superintendent and was a member of the exhibition board.
