Delphi JV burn Red Devils The Delphi JV football team had an impressive 12-8 win at West Lafayette Monday night. The Red Devils went on top in the second period when on a third and long the Red Devils converted a touchdown and a two-point conversion to go ahead 8-0. The Oracles answered the call with a 65-yard scoring drive. The drive ended on a six-yard slant pass to Dustin Salyer from Tanner Cripe. The conversion failed and the half ended. In the third the Oracles drove the ball 60 yards for a nine minute, ten second drive only to falter on the 10-yard line, yielding an interception. The Red Devils had a 50- yard run on their first play from scrimmage. The Oracle defense held the Red Devils for the win. Game highlights were the power running of Cory Smith, the passing game of Tanner Cripe to Dustin Salyer and Nathan McTigue. The defense led by Derek Bradshaw bent time and time again but never fell to the Red Devils. The JV is now 1-2 and play this Saturday against Twin Lakes. |
