McGills' celebrate 60th
Mr. and Mrs. Norman McGill of Burlington celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a son's house near Forest with 40 members of their family gathering on Aug. 26.

McGill and the former Barbara McIlrath were married Aug. 23, 1947, at the Burlington United Methodist parsonage by Rev. Harold Miller.

He served in the Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific. He retired from farming and now serves on the Burlington Town Council.

She retired as food director at Clinton Central High School. She and her husband also worked together in her painting and papering business.

They have four children, Dan McGill (wife: Sally) of Frankfort, Vickie Kelly (husband: Fred) of Rossville, DeeDee Kingery (husband: Randy) of Frankfort, and Dana McGill (wife: Cathy) of Forest.

The couple has 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
