Proud of Delphi

Debbie and I were deeply touched by the expression of respect showed by the folks of Delphi for Cpl. Hensel and his family on Thursday morning as his honor guard convoyed to Logansport for his funeral services. The turnout was magnificent and the fire department's flag display was especially dignified.

The sight of our older veterans that gathered in the heat to assemble an Honor Guard and salute Cpl. Hensel with the flag ceremony, rifle salute, and taps was a picture every critic of the goodness of this nation should see. I watched the motorcycle riders riding by with tears running down their faces and the family members who were visibly touched by this community's expression of sympathy and support.

We were very proud of our community. Thanks to all who showed up and participated.

Service News

I have a "Google Alert" out for the name "Camp Lybert." I was quite thrilled today to pull in your news article on Sgt Landon Duff.

His address has special meaning.

Camp Lybert is named for my son SSG Patrick Lee Lybert KIA 21 June 2006, Gowardesh, Afghanistan, 3-71 Cav 10th MNT DIV (LI) Recon.

Needless to say I immediately drafted a letter, then off to the store to fill a box and ship it out to SGT Landon Duff,

He is the first one, since the 10th MNT DIV returned home in June that I have found an address for to send designated items for Camp Lybert.

Thank you for keeping service news in your paper. Cheryl Lee Patrick-Nussberger

Ladysmith, Wisc.
