Edna C. Welk Edna Catherine Welk, 90, of Rossville, passed away Aug. 27, 2007, at 12:44 a.m. at Milner Community Healthcare. She was born March 21, 1917, in Carroll County, to Perry J. and Clara E. Wagoner Cottrell. She attended Rossville schools. On Dec. 23, 1939, she married Marlin L. Welk and he survives. Mrs. Welk resided in Rossville since 1983. She was a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church. She farmed near Mulberry for 26 years, beginning in 1957. She was a custodian and maintenance employee for 17 years at Mulberry High School. Later she worked at Mulberry Dairy Barn for six years. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Jane Renicker (husband: R.J.) of Rossville; a son, Eugene E. Welk (wife: Judy) of Camden; a sister, Edith A. Welk (husband: Floyd) of Rossville; two brothers, Richard E. Cottrell (wife: Virginia) of Rossville and Calvin P. Cottrell of rural Rossville; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat grandchildren; and two step-great-great- grandchildren. Mrs. Welk was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Butler and Irene Denlinger, and two brothers, Floyd Cottrell and Alvin Cottrell. Visitation will be Aug. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Services will be Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. at the church. Home brethren will officiate. Burial will be at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. The church is located in Clinton County at the intersection of CR 600W. and CR 750N., near Rossville.
