Paul L. Gaylor

Paul L. Gaylor, 83, of Burlington, died at 7:16 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at St. Joseph Hosp ital, Kokomo.

Born Feb. 24, 1924, in Forest, he was the son of Orval and Lena Fletcher Gaylor. His wife, Jo Gaylor, survives.

He was a 1942 graduate of Forest High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945 and received numerous medals, including two Purple Hearts. He held a Division Belt in the Marines for boxing at age 19.

He was employed by Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo and retired after 30 years in management.

Also surviving are children, Jim Gaylor (wife: Linda), Gary Gaylor (wife: Sherry), Linda L. Gaylor, and Pauletta J. Gaylor, all of Kokomo; Mark W. Gaylor (wife: Patty), Camden; and Jeff Gaylor (companion: Tammy Cain), Burlington; Gary Miller (wife: Cindy), Kokomo, a son of his companion; 16 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Scherer, and his companion, Doris Miller.

Services were Aug. 28 at Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington, with Pastor Emery Reece officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery, Forest, with military rites conducted by the Kokomo VFW Military Team.
