John Charles Fry

John Charles Fry, 90, of Cutler, died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at St. Vincent Hospital, Frankfort.

Born April 16, 1917, in Moran, Ind., he was the son of Vinton Elsworth and Edith Winslow Fry. He married Ruby Fern Lohrman on May 1, 1938, near Bringhurst, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2001.

Mr. Fry retired from Delco Electronics, Kokomo, in 1982 after working there 36 years.

He was a member of the F & AM Lodge, originally in Cutler. He was a ham radio enthusiast. He enjoyed all types of radios, and repaired radios from all over the nation.

Surviving are four sons, Glen Fry (wife: Deloris) of Miami, Ind., Jerry Fry (wife: Vanda), of Fort Wayne, Rev. Vinton Fry (wife: Charlene) of Huntersville, N.C., and Charles Fry of Cutler; six daughters, Mary Greer (husband: Eldon) of Bourbon, Ind., Laura Metzger (husband: Orville Jr.) of Rossville, Jane Wolfe (husband: Glendon) of Flora, June Lillvis (husband: John) of Orange City, Fla., Clara Kurayama (husband: Misao), of Columbus, Ind., and Ruth Kelly (husband: Robert K.) of Hillisburg, Ind.; 27 grandchildren and 35 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Frye and Henry B. Fry.

Services are today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home (www.bakerfh.com), Flora, with Rev. Vinton Fry officiating. Burial will be in Ball Hill Cemetery.
