E. Evelyn Chapman E. Evelyn "Si" Chapman, 71, of Delphi, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at her residence. Born Feb. 2, 1936, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of Carl E. and Esta E. Lucas Carter. She graduated from Camden High School in 1954. On Dec. 12, 1956, at Fickle United Methodist Church, she married Wayne Chapman, who survives. Mrs. Chapman was retired. She had most recently worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Dickerson at Mulberry. She has previously worked as a secretary at Delphi Middle School. She was a member of the first EMT class that started the Carroll County Emergency Medical Service. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post #413 at Camden. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #475, serving as Past Matron of Carroll Chapter, Grand Representative to Arkansas in Indiana, and Ambassador to Indiana Masonic Home. Surviving with her husband are one son, John Chapman (wife: Cindi) of Delphi; three daughters, Carla Frazier of Delphi, Jill Chapman of Indianapolis, and Julie Watkins (husband: Tom) of Flora; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her father preceded her in death on July 21, 1986, and her mother on Aug. 28, 2001. Services were held Monday morning at the Delphi United Methodist Church. Pastor Todd Ladd officiated and burial was at Camden Cemetery, Camden. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Children's Ministries or Indiana Masonic Home. Cree Funeral Home, Camden, was in charge of arrangements. |
