WYNDHAM TRAXLERCARTER, art teacher in the Carroll schools, participated in "Extending Teacher Creativity: A Summer Workshop on Integration, Collaboration and Technology" on the campus of Indiana State University. Funding was provided by Lilly Endowment.

The workshop focused on curriculum integration and professional collaboration.

For the past 13 summers, ISU has hosted this opportunity for a competitively selected group of former Teacher Creativity Fellows.

The Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program was developed in 1987 as an opportunity for Indiana public school teachers to design creative projects for personal and professional renewal. Since the beginning of the program, more than 1,700 teachers have successfully competed for and reaped the benefits of this unusual personal and professional development experience. The effects of the program are designed to reach far beyond a summer project and into the individual teacher's classroom.

DAVID HEBER of Delphi participated in the National Student Leadership Conference on Engineering this summer at the University of Maryland. He attended specialized workshops and classes designed to develop the skills and traits that define a leader.

Professors and college students facilitated the programs and engaged students in career focused hands-on activities that simulated a career in each student's area of interest.

Three students from Carroll County were among the 1,500 people who received degrees during graduation ceremonies Aug. 11 at Indiana Wesleyan University. Graduating were:

MELODY D. BURNS, Delphi, Bachelor of Science degree in management.

BRENT W. MARLEY, Cutler, Master of Science degree in management.

DAVID B. ALBAUGH, Bachelor of Science degree in management.
