The Rev. Bonnie Shoft has accepted the call to serve the Burlington United Methodist Church. She will begin her new duties on Sept. 2. Guest speaker on Aug. 26 will be the Rev. Gene Ansell.

Crossroads Community Christian Church will have a church picnic and softball game on Sunday, starting at 4 p.m.

Faith Church of Christ is sponsoring a fundraiser for its Jamaica mission trip. On Saturday a car wash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A callout for the trip will be held Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Kiwanis Club will meet Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and meeting at the fire station.
