Meetings Carroll County Habitat for Humanity met Aug. 7 at Radnor United Methodist Church. Seven members and two guests were present. Current officers were reelected for next year and include: Randy Wherley, president; Don Reef, vice-president; and Diane Justice, secretary. Siding was completed and electrical and plumbing work are slated next for the 2007 Body of Christ Build. Janet Hildreth will be guest speaker at the Delphi First Presbyterian Church Women's Fall Gathering Sept. 21. A speaker will represent the chapter at a Carroll County Social Services Network luncheon Oct. 8. The chapter recently received a $904 grant from REMC to purchase home construction equipment.Adrywall jack was purchased. Chapter grant writer Frances Flora attended the Carroll County Community Foundation meeting to apply for a grant. Fundraisers at Terry Callender's pond and another with the Delphi Public Library are being explored. The next meeting will be Sept. 4 at Honan Hall in Delphi. Meetings are open to the public. Delphi CWF The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church metAug. 7 in the church with Katie Cree as hostess. Thirteen members answered roll call. The singing group,Water N2 Wine, will perform Sept. 9 at the church. The performance will be followed by a carry-in dinner. Jackie Paris presented the lesson on spiritual gifts. The next meeting will be Sept. 4 with Lee Nydeggar as hostess. Classy Classics E.H. Classy Classics E.H. Club met Aug. 13 in the home of Marion Eller with 12 members present. Devotions were given by Marion Eller. The lesson was presented by DianaAlter.Members received brochures addressing possible problems of mold inside and outside Indiana homes. Loretta Lambert shared her experience of taking a handmade formal dress to the Indiana State Fair to be judged and participating in the Indiana State Fair Fashion Show. Judy Downham showed a weighted vest that she had prepared from a pattern provided that will be donated to the School for the Blind in Indianapolis. The vest will be used with autistic children. Members were reminded that in September the club will be collecting clothing items for local schools and that Riley Hospital can use handmade or purchased small bears. International Night will be held Sept. 20 and reservations must be made by Sept. 13. Diana Alter presented a gift to Pat Rodgers, the outgoing president in recognition of her service to the club. The next meeting will be Sept. 10 at the home of Kathy Northcutt. |
