Extension project lessons to be offered Sept. 6

Carroll County Extension Office will host project lessons on Sept. 6 at the 4-H Building in Flora.

The lessons are researched, based and presented byExtension Educators. Although Extension Homemakers are the target for the lessons, an invitation is extended to the public, as the topics are beneficial to anyone interested.

Call the Extension Office, 765- 564-3169, in advance to attend one or more of the following lessons:

10 a.m. - "Organizing Your Recipe Collection." Do you have a drawer full of recipes from the magazines, newspapers and friends? Does it take you forever to sort through them when you want to try something new? Do you usually go back to your tried and true recipes? This program gives you some suggestions for getting them organized. Participants are asked to bring examples of howthey organize their recipes and sample recipe formats - how they like the recipe organized and what items to include. This lesson will be taught by Joanne Lytton.

10 a.m. - "Preparing for Emergencies." Thisworkshopwill provide a brief overview of the pandemic flu and other emergency related preparedness tips. Businesses and homes alike should have a plan. This lesson will be taught by Julie Butus.

7 p.m. - "Family/FriendsGame Night."Mix together kids, grandkids, parents, grandparents or a group of good friends, bring out a board game and what do you have? Fun, learning, laughter and times for making memories. The lesson will be on age-appropriate games, games as a learning tool for all ages, and ideas on how to set up a game night for your club, family or group of friends. This lesson will be taught by Susan Tharp.
