Program has openings for seniors in need
Comet staff report

National Able Network (NAN) announced openings for residents ages 55 or older who have limited income and are interested in getting back into the workforce.

NAN received a $2.3 million one-year grant to coordinate the Title V Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) for Indiana. NAN will work with the Indiana Family and Social ServicesAdministration to administer training and employment opportunities for eligible participants.

SCSEP offers paid training and work experience opportunities for economically disadvantaged individuals age 55 and older and facilitates the transition of job-ready participants to unsubsidized employment in the public and private sectors.

With the aid of the program, NAN promotes productive part-time employment in community service activities while working to increase the number of eligible participants.

Call NAN at (800) 669-8004 or area program manager John O'Connor at (812) 232-1381 ext. 323 for more information.
