Heffley retires From U.S.A.F

Heffley
Master Sergeant James E. Heffley officially retired from the United States Air Force on July 17.

A retirement ceremony

was held July 13 at Hurlburt Field in Florida. His former commander from Germany gave a glowing speech that highlighted Heffley's almost 24-year career.

He spent 20 years in Germany where he participated in approximately 40 separate deployments, ranging from Tromso, Norway, above the Arctic Circle, to as far south as the Persian Gulf supporting the war on terrorism.

Following his time in Germany, he was assigned to Lajes Field in the Azores for 15 months. After that, he spent 22 months at Hurlburt Field.

In attendance at the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Heffley and son, Nathan, of Ockley, and Ron Bogan of Delphi.

Heffley is the son of Karen James of Delphi, who also attended the ceremony, and John E. Heffley of Ockley. He graduated from Delphi Community High school in 1984. He resides in Navarre, Fla.
