Parents will need to sign for the student's card. For more information ask at the circulation desk or call the library at 967- 3912.

Join the Saturday morning book discussion group as they discuss "The Hours," by Michael Cunningham on August 25. "The Hours" won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and was later made into an Oscar winning movie of the same name in 2002.

The book tells the story of three women: Virginia Woolf, beginning to write Mrs. Dalloway as she recuperates in a London suburb with her husband in 1923; Clarissa Vaughan, who is in modern-day New York; and Laura Brown, in a 1949 Los Angeles suburb. By the end of the novel, these three stories intertwine in remarkable ways, and finally come together in an act of subtle grace.

Preschool storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. The next storytime theme is "Cats."

Stories can be heard anytime by calling the library's Dial-a- Story, 967-3814.

The Coffee Beat starts up again Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. with entertainment by The Molter Brothers.

The Molter boys have dabbled in music ever since the eldest brother, Chuck, played in a rock band in the 1960s. About six years ago, he and brothers Mark and Don decided to form their own band.

The three Purdue graduates now have careers and families to tend. Nonetheless, they find time for music. They play in at least two musical ensembles each and perform a great list of popular cover tunes at least once a month.

Guests should enter through the library from Indiana St. Coffee and music are free and desserts will be available for purchase.

Morning Book Club will meet in the Gerber room Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. to discuss "The Memory Keeper's Daughter" by Kim Edwards. Ruth Crawn will give a review of the book. Coffee, breakfast treats and social time will start off the program.

Evening Book Club will meet Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. to discuss "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls. The author spent years trying to hide her childhood experiences but allows her story to spill out in this remarkable recollection. Several copies of the book are available at all the libraries.

For more information, call the library at (765) 564-2929.
