CARROLL COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN will meet Aug. 15 at The Dinner Bell in Burlington. The 12:30 luncheon will feature a program by Carol Blacketer, executive director of the Wildcat Wildlife Center. Reservations are not required. All interested Carroll County women are encouraged and welcome to attend.

The Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School Guidance Department will present an INFORMATIONAL MEETING for all incoming 7th grade students and their parents on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The meeting is for all students and their parents in the Class of 2013.

The Greater Lafayette Small Business Development Center will host a WORKSHOP for anyone interested in STARTING THEIR OWN BUSINESS. The workshop will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Swezey Commerce Center, 337 Columbia St., Lafayette. The workshop is free and open to anyone interested in starting a business or who is already in business and seeks more information. To make a reservation, call 765-496-6491.

DEER CREEK FESTIVAL and hog roast will be Saturday, Aug. 25, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Deer Creek Community Center on State Road 29. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the hog roast will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

DELPHI AMERICAN LEGION AUXILARY UNIT 75 meeting time has changed. The group will meet Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Legion Hall on south Washington St.

First practice for MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY will be Aug. 15 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria. Call Margaret Mose at (765) 564- 6721 for information.

Prevent Child Abuse Carroll County is accepting ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SUPPLY DONATIONS. Drop-off sites are the First Christian Church in Flora, the Comet office in Delphi and the group's barbecue dinner in the United Methodist food tent Saturday night during Old Settlers. The Division of Family and Children is in special need of head lice medicated shampoo and supplies due to an insufficient supply in the community. Donated supplies will be distributed to those in need on Aug. 14 at the Stone Barn from 4 to 7 p.m.

SENIOR CITIZENS' MONTHLY LUNCHEON will be Aug. 15 at noon in the Delphi Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. An elevator is available for those in need. Call Susan at (765) 564-2371 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a ride or information.
