Traffic stop nets marijuana Three Frankfort men were arrested Friday night after K-9 Reno alerted officers to the presence of illegal drugs in a vehicle that was stopped for equipment violations. A search of the vehicle revealed 43 grams of marijuana hidden under the ash try inside the rear passenger door. Arrested and transported to Carroll County Jail were: Bladimir Martinez, 22, charged with D felony maintaining a common nuisance and outstanding Clinton County warrant; Greg Mejia, 21, D felony possession of marijuana, excess of 30 grams, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance; and Roberio Lucio, 24, misdemeanor visiting a common nuisance. Their bonds were set at $5,433 Martinez, $8,000 Mejia, and $1,000 Lucio. According to police, all three men had multiple prior arrests. Flora Officer Josh Disinger made the traffic stop at 7:20 p.m. at the corner of SR 75 and CR 175N. The driver, Martinez, was driving on a suspended license. Neither of his passengers had a valid driver's license. Disinger requested assistance from Carroll County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Liggett and his K- 9 Reno. "Officer Disinger and K-9 Officer Liggett did an outstanding job, which is the norm for the night shift," said Flora Town Marshal Paul Redmon. "These officers work hard to make our community safe from drug dealers and drug trafficking. Making traffic stops is how a lot of these types of criminals are caught and arrested." |
