Master Gardener class to be offered in county
Comet staff report

Master Gardener classes will be taught in Carroll County for the first time. Beginning Aug. 20, classes will meet on Monday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 at the Carroll County 4-H Community Exhibit Building in Flora. The cost of the class per person will be $75. If a couple wants to share the Master Gardener book, the cost will be $100 for the pair. The costs simply cover the materials that are used in the class and the printed materials that participants receive.

Master Gardeners wanting to attend classes for review will be assessed a $25 fee to cover expenses.

Purdue extension educators and specialists have agreed to teach many of the classes that will give class members a wealth of knowledge about horticulture.

An orientation meeting will be held Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Since Purdue University specialists require a minimum of 15 class members, those planning to attend the class are asked to contact the Purdue Extension/ Carroll County office by Aug. 8. Call the office at 765-564-3169 or email pmarcellino@ purdue.edu to register for the program.
