Delphi Art Club announces Art Show

Delphi Art Club will once again present its annual art show in the rotunda and lounge of the Carroll County Courthouse Aug. 8-11, during Old Settlers.

This year the club is featuring the artwork of its newest members - Janie Szczepanski, Carol Wicklund, Marge Bothof, Jan Bell, and Tracy Bookmiller.

The show will also have more categories this year. Oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor, photography, wood burning, china painting, and gourds will be exhibited, along with some surprises.

Members are to bring their artwork and help set up the flats for the show on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. All work must be hung by 10 a.m. Wednesday in order for the judging to be completed by noon.

The show will be judged by Martin Gerbens. He lived in Saipan and other countries for some time before returning to the U.S. He has an M.L.I.S. from Indiana University, an M.F.A. from Purdue, and a B.A. in Fine Arts from Purdue. He recently moved back to Delphi.

Those attending are asked to vote for their favorite art entry. The People's Choice awards will be given at the end of the show.

The club is open to interested artists in and around the community. For more information on joining, talk to one of the officers or a member of the club during the show.
