Delphi UMC adds Rohrer to pastoral staff
Most recently, Rohrer served as senior pastor at Kilmore United Methodist Church near Frankfort. She said about a year ago she felt it was time to take a step toward "servant ministry" in which her role would be to "have a foot in the church and a foot in the world." Senior Pastor Todd Ladd said he sees this as a great opportunity for his church to be more attuned and responsive to its members and the community. The work that Sheri will do fills one of the holes in our current staffing model," he said. "She not only brings a heart for ministry but a heart for the Lord." Part of Rohrer's work will focus on helping people feel comfortable and connected when they visit the church. Another aspect will be outreach. She will help equip members to have "eyes outside the church," to find out what can be done to help in the community. She will also help with existing ministries, start new ones, and work with outreach and discipleship teams. Rohrer and her husband Robert have been married 15 years. They have three daughters, Alisha, Bethany and Sarah. They have lived in Delphi since 1997. Rohrer said she relishes the opportunity to become a more integral part of the church and community now that she is working in Delphi. |
