Letters to the Editor

The Comet welcomes letters to the editor responding to articles and events in the news. They must include the author's name, address and telephone number. The letter writer's name and city/town will appear in the paper - no exceptions. Letters must be 400 words or less in length. Appreciates small town

I am a newcomer to Flora, having moved here about seven years ago to be near family. I find Flora a very nice place to live with shops and businesses to meet every need, as well as friendly people, a variety of activities, and many churches.

One day last week I went out to may car in the driveway to unload eight or nine geranium plants from the trunk. I picked one up and put it on the driveway, realizing that it was much heavier than I expected. Just then two boys rode up on their bicycles and to my surprise said, "Would you like some help?"

Indeed, I would. They hopped off their bicycles and in no time had all the plants unloaded and placed where I wanted them. Before they left we exchanged names and I thanked them for their timely help.

So thank you again, Hunter and Xavier, for your offer to help. It was very much appreciated.
