Washington Twp. Deer Creek Presbyterian Church will be supporting the Emmaus Mission Center in Logansport next week at the worship service. Everyone is to bring canned goods or non-perishable goods or monies. They are in desperate need of help. Bereavement Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 2 with Pastor Tom McShannock leading the group. This is a free service for anyone who has suffered a loss. Thirty-eight members of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church traveled last Sunday after worship to Indianapolis to the Beef & Boards Dinner Theater to see the play, "Smoke on the Mountain." Carroll County Old Settlers will be Aug. 8-11 in Delphi. Karen Hylton (859-2651) and Lois Wallace (859-2695) are in charge of the Washington Township display in the Zook's Realty window at the corner of Washington and Main streets. They are displaying anything that has to do with Washington Township, such as farming or anything to do with Deer Creek High School, Deer Creek Crickets, or the Conversation Club. Anyone having pictures or other items of interest is asked to contact Hylton or Wallace, who will see that the items are picked and returned. A group of ladies recently traveled to Fort Wayne and had lunch at the home of Vicky (Martin) Korn. Afterwards, they went to the home of Christina (Forgey) Kennell for dessert and there her daughter, Juliann, and her daughter joined them. Those attending from this area were Mary Ellen Johnson, Helen Forgey, Kim Forgey, Myra Miller, Barbara Ottinger, Doris Jean Bryan and Doris Fouts. Members of Faith Lutheran Church were charged last Sunday to fill a pickup truck with canned goods and anything extra from the garden for Emmaus Mission. |
