James M. Ross Jr.

James M. Ross Jr., 57, of Bringhurst, passed away at 5:02 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

He was born March 22, 1950, in Lafayette to James M. Sr. and Betty Marie Moon Ross. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1967. On Aug. 4, 1974, he married Kathy Seward in Deer Creek and she survives.

Mr. Ross was an Air Force veteran. He worked at Alcoa for 37 years, retiring in May 2006.

He had attended Deer Creek Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Surviving with his wife of Bringhurst are two daughters, Betty Jean Gravitt of Brookston and Angela Marie Knott of Flora; two stepsisters, Deb Parker (husband: Keith) of Americus and Pat Stingley of Lafayette; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and his parents.

Services were held Sunday at Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, Burial was at Zion Cemetery near Bringhurst.
