Ruby Jackson Long

Ruby Jackson Long, 89, of Kokomo, died at 11:10 p.m. July 21, 2007, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Kokomo.

Born Oct. 13, 1917, in Howard County, she was the daughter of George and Arnetha Young Fye. She attended Howard Township School. On June 3, 1936, she married Gerald Jackson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1982. She married Verlin Long on Jan. 14, 1984, and he died Sept. 11, 1998.

A housewife, Mrs. Long was retried from Waddell's IGA in Burlington.

She was a lifetime member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Surviving are five children, Larry Jackson, Janet Brubaker, Patricia Spencer, Roger Jackson and Debra Stout; ten grandchildren, Mike Jackson, Mark Jackson, Mary Ellen Pownell, Cathy Nolder, Jeff Brubaker, Brian Brubaker, Julie Dillinger, Jeremy Spencer, Guy Benson, and Sarah Gaddis; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, two brothers, two sisters, and two greatgrandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday at Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington. Pastor Greg Reef officiated. Entombment was at Sunset Memory Garden, Kokomo.
