Each summer 4,050,000 people will need blood. You could help three of those people through one blood donation. Take an hour of your summer to help save lives at an AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE Aug. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Flora United Methodist Church, 107 N. Main St. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in general good health and provide identification. On August 11, historian Mark A. Smith will lead a WALK AROUND THE COURTHOUSE SQUARE, highlighting area merchants from the past and the buildings in which they served the community and county. Interested persons should meet in front of the Antique Mall at 2:30 p.m.

MONROE TWP. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BANQUET will be Aug. 18 at Pat's Country Barn, Flora. Registration will begin at 2 p.m., group picture at 4, and dinner at 5, followed by a business meeting. The 3rd Annual CHILD CAR SEAT CLINIC will be held Aug. 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Flora Community Park. Trained certified technicians will inspect and offer instruction on the proper installation of car seats. Everyone is welcome.
