Monroe County Soil and Water Conservation District will offer CATCH A WAVE - COME EXPLORE YOUR WATERSHED, a new watershed curriculum for home school students, beginning Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Karst Farm Park Commons in Monroe County. The program will continue the first Wednesday of each month through May 2008. Students ages 12 to 18 and their families are eligible. The Indiana Nonprofit Resource Network, in coordination with the Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau, will offer a panel discussion workshop INCORPORATING YOUTH INTO VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS July 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the West Lafayette Public Library. Panelists from area nonprofit agencies with successful youth volunteer programs will reveal how they make their programs work and respond to questions. A cost is associated and includes lunch. Wednesdays in the Wild will meet to discuss THE PLIGHT OF THE HONEYBEEAug. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lilly Nature Center in West Lafayette. Indiana Beekeeping School founder Rob Green will talk about honeybees in America, the cause of the population drop and some possible solutions. Bluffwood Creek Honey will be available for purchase. Frankfort Main Street will hold its annual HOT DOG FESTIVAL on Friday and Saturday. The weekend event will feature arts and craft vendors, food booths, free concerts, 5K Bun Run & Walk, Great Wiener Cook-off cooking contest and much more. The 5 K Bun Run and Walk will start at 8 a.m., Saturday.
