Arthur E. Pickering

Arthur E. Pickering, formerly of rural Frankfort, died at 12 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2007, at Milner Community Healthcare Center in Rossville.

He was born June 17, 1913, in Clinton County, to George and Elizabeth Swihart Pickering. He married Vivian U. Hickerson and she preceded him in death.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II.

Mr. Pickering was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by two sons, Joe L. Pickering of Frankfort and Jay D. Pickering of Martinsville, four daughters, Carol Mitchell of Arkansas, Jean Cohee of North Carolina, Peggy House of Frankfort and Kay Mocherman of Cutler; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.

Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, was in charge of arrangmenets.
