Dunn invests time at 'home'

After working 15 years at First Financial Bank, Delphi resident John Dunn recently opened his own business, Dunn Investments and Financial Services at 1001 S. Washington St. He offers 401K rollovers, IRAs, insurance, and long-term care to Carroll County, a place Dunn calls home.

Dunn is a 1986 Delphi Community High School graduate, and a 1991 Purdue graduate. He is a member of the Delphi Rotary Club and managing partner and partial owner of D&J Management LLC. He was formerly the treasurer of Delphi Dollars for Scholars and the Delphi unit of the Salvation Army, vice president of the Delphi Economic Development Commission, and board member of the Delphi Chamber of Commerce.

Dunn is involved in area athletics. He is player agent and coach for the Delphi Youth Baseball League, Deputy Commissioner for Indiana Town and Country Youth Baseball League, and a member of the Delphi Athletic Booster Club.

As a statistician and back up announcer for Purdue men's and women's basketball and football, Dunn also spends time keeping statistics for Delphi High School's girls' softball, football, and girls' and boys' basketball, as well as seventh and eighth grade boys' basketball and football. Dunn is a contributing sportswriter for the Comet.

Dunn explained he is glad to have the opportunity to provide independent financial services in his hometown.

"I have made a commitment to work in my community," said Dunn. "There is always a risk involved when we venture on our own. But the time was right, and we'll see how things go."
