Sam Zook is re-elected Carroll board president

Carroll School Board elected officers for 2007-2008 at its organizational meeting July 3.

The following officers were re-elected: Sam Zook, president; Mike Eikenberry, vice president; and Eric Johnson, secretary.

Leslie Allen was re-appointed corporation treasurer, and Miriam Robeson was reappointed corporation attorney.

The board's regular meeting days and times will continue to be on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Administration Building.

Conflict of interest statements are declared annually and this year's are on file in the Administration Building.

Resignations were accepted from Ann Sheagley, who is retiring as first grade teacher, and from Clint Bernier, summer employee. Those hired as summer employees were Kyle Wallace, full-time, and Tyler Budreau, part-time.

The board approved the purchase of a copier for the high school at a cost of $12,995, to be paid out of the Capital Projects Fund.

As part of the revised Bus Replacement Plan, two handicapped accessible buses will be purchased in 2008.

Superintendent John Sayers announced that bids for the construction of a concession stand for the new softball/soccer complex will be accepted through July 20. Plans are available at the Administration Building. The contract will be awarded July 24.

Because of the fair next

week, the regular board meeting will be July 24 (instead of July 17) at 7:30 p.m.
