Callout under way for Burlington Fall Festival Queen pageant

Burlington Fall Festival Queen Pageant is part of the annual event. This year's pageant with a Hollywood them of "When the Stars Come Out," will be held Sept. 12.

The pageant is open to high school girls in grades 9- 12, who are residents of Burlington, or reside within a 10-mile radius; have affiliations with social or church organizations; or are employed in Burlington. Deadline for submitting an application will be July 25.

Spons00ors are required for each contestant. The sponsor is responsible for a $25 fee (checks payable to Burlington Community Club). A 5X7 picture is required and cans with pictures of contestants will need to be made for the Miss Photogenic Award. Cans can be placed in the sponsor's business and then will be out during the pageant for the audience to vote.

Those desiring to compete in the pageant should present the following information in resume form, typed: contestant's name, parents' names, sponsor, age, address, phone number, qualification(s) for participation, grade and school, club memberships, career plans, favorite activities, and answer the following question: What actor or actress do you most respect and what differences do you think they have made in the world?

Three copies of the application information, along with sponsor fee and picture, should be mailed to Shelly Wiles, PO Box 23, Burlington, IN 46915. Questions may be directed to her at 765-566-3610. No entries will be taken after Aug. 26.
