Announcements PITCH YOUR PACKS AND POUNDS AT THE PARK by attending a smoking cessation program each Monday beginning July 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Riley Park in Delphi. The program, sponsored by Carroll County Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Coalition, will include fitness and health education. Call the Carroll County Health Department at (765) 564-3420 for information or to register. A meeting to ESTABLISH A FIRE TERRITORY in and near Rossville will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 18 at the Rossville Town Hall. Included will be the Town of Rossville, Clay and Owen townships in Clinton County and Clay Township in Carroll County. Providers are invited to a FREE TRAINING about the new ways people can apply for FSSA's public assistance programs. This training is part of the eligibility modernization that is expected to improve convenience for public assistance clients. Agencies attending will also be able to join the Voluntary Community Assistance Network (V-CAN). V-CAN members will be able to offer public assistance application information and access to their clients after the training. FSSA training for community agencies will be held July 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Delphi Public Library. Register at www.in.gov/fssa, click "Eligibility Modernization." Social Service. BOYER FLIGHT PARK INC. will hold its 11th Annual Flight Park Appreciation Day Fly-In on Saturday from sunrise to sunset, weather permitting and Sunday from sunrise to noon. There will be static displays, ultralight demonstrations, fixed wing ultralights, trikes, powered parachutes. A potluck supper will be served Saturday evening. No admission fee will be charged and ample parking is available on the grounds. The public is invited. DELPHI ART CLUB will meet July 5 at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center at Delphi, across from the Stone Barn. The meeting will be to discuss and make final plans for the art show in August and election of officers for the coming year. Members also need to summit their list of entries for the art show. Entries this year may include oil and acrylic painting, water color, china, pastel and pencil, photography and miscellaneous. Hosts for the meeting will be Carol Oliver and Phyllis Porter. The LOG CABIN at Flora Community Park has received a state flag from Gov. Mitch Daniels. It will be flown on the cabin's new flag pole. The cabin will be open on the Fourth of July from 2 p.m. until dark. Other activities at the park on the Fourth will be a Gospel Fest sponsored by Flora First Christian Church from 6- 9:30 p.m., and fireworks at dusk. Picnic food will be available from the Flora Ministerial Association, and the Flora Lions Club will have ice cream. |
