Gallery Walk in Lafayette

Lafayette Renaissance Academy's latest Gallery Walk will be July 6-Aug. 31. Featured artist is Alicia Garletts.

The opening reception for "Scatterlogical" will be July 6 from 6-10 p.m.

Gallery Director Rena Brouwer describes Garletts' work: "Her work exhibits the classically trained eye depicting realism. The content of her work extends beyond traditional realism subject matter. Her inquisitive nature propels her work into a seemingly nonsensical but rational perspective of common subjects, often appearing abstract from her renderings."

Music at the opening will be provided by Deep & Simple: Christi Clore, Linda Hicks, and Joe Peters.

Brouwer is also a resident artist at the Renaissance Academy, and new work by her will be on exhibit from July 6 through Aug. 31. Titled "Inspirations," the exhibit features work from onsite studies. The artist reception will be July 6 from 4 to 6 p.m.
