Helen B. Howard Helen B. Howard, 78, of Frankfort, died at 1:14 p.m. June 23, 2007, at Wesley Manor in Frankfort. Born May 24, 1929, in Fountain County, she was the daughter of A. Grant and Vera May Kirts Buck. She graduated from Klondike High School in 1947 and attended Purdue University. On Aug. 15, 1948, she married Orville E. Howard Jr., and he survives. Mrs. Howard was a teacher's aid with the special education department at Clinton Prairie School Corporation, retiring in 1991. She moved to Frankfort from Flora in 1974. She had resided in Millersburg from 1950 to 1961. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Frankfort, and was a former member of the Flora United Methodist Church and the Zion Evangelical Reformed Church of Millersburg. Mrs. Howard served twentyplus years as a volunteer counselor and administrator at Camp Re-Yo-Ad at Epworth Forest in North Webster. She enjoyed quilting and it was a talent that she shared with many. Surviving with her husband are a son, Dr. Thomas E. Howard (wife: Zoe) of Warsaw; a daughter, Bonnie M. Fox of Lafayette; a brother, William G. Buck of Greenhill; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Mark and Ariel Howard, Molly Schwierman (husband: Brandon) and Tim Fox. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, Frankfort. Pastor Jean Brindel will officiate. A private burial service will be held. Calling hours were held Tuesday evening at Genda Funeral Home, Frankfort, and will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Abilities Services, Inc.
