William R. Bennett

William R. "Bill" Bennett, 69, of Greentown, died at 11:10 a.m. June 25, 2007, at Howard Regional Hospital, Kokomo.

Born Feb. 11, 1938, he was the son of Donald and Mildred Harrold Bennett. He attended Kokomo High School.

William retired after working 25 years at Cuneo Press. After that, he worked security at Yeager & Sullivan, Camden.

William, also known as Willie Bennett, loved motorcycles. He also enjoyed building model cars, fishing, and being with his grandchildren. He was an avid I.U. basketball and football fan and NASCAR fan.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathleen Pruitt (husband: John) of Delphi; two sons, Jeffrey A. Bennett (wife: Tammy) of Greentown and Brian Scott (wife: Linda) Bennett of Logansport; two sisters, Jeanette Stout (husband: Louis) and Donna Walker, all of Kokomo; seven grandchildren, Cole and Jordan Bennett of Greentown, April and Angela Pruitt of Delphi, Holly and Brett Nichols and Devon Bennett of Logansport; and a special granddaughter, Michele Maish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a grandson, Ryan Bennett.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hasler Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown. Pastor Kenn Freeland will officiate and burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Greentown.
