Ivan W. Wilhelm Ivan Wayne Wilhelm, 81, of Michigan City, died June 24, 2007, at 12:30 a.m. at Arbor Healthcare in Michigan City. He was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Wisconsin to the late Harold and Hazel Zimmer Wilhelm. He graduated from Otterbein High School in 1944 and attended Purdue University for one academic year. On Nov. 28, 1964, in Monticello, he married Lillie Mae Reynolds. She survives and resides in Michigan City. Mr. Wilhelm served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor, Mich. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God and VFW Post #37, both in Michigan City. Surviving are a stepson, Gary Neely (wife: Julie) of Monticello; two stepdaughters, Christine Pickett of Flora and Sandra Weigle of Michigan City; four sisters, Carol Neff (husband: Perry), Paula VanHorn (husband: Dick) and Loretta Doedon, all of Otterbein, and Vesta Ward of West Lafayette; a brother, Stanley Wilhelm of Lafayette; nine grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Services are today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. (EDT) at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monticello. Memorials may be made to Michigan City VFW Post #37. |
