Mabel L. Wilburn

Services for Mabel L. Wilburn, 90, of Rockfield, were held Saturday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden. Pastor Dan Gottschalk officiated and burial was at Rockfield I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

She died at 1:34 a.m. June 20, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette.

Born April 1, 1917, in Rock Creek Township, Carroll County, she was the daughter of Clarence E. and Mattie R. Campbell Tribbett. She attended Rockfield School. On June 1, 1936, in Monticello, she married Glen M. "Shine" Wilburn, who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1995.

A homemaker, Mrs. Wilburn was a lifelong resident of Rockfield.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, quilting and sewing. She was devoted to her family.

Surviving are two sons, Henry Wilburn (wife: Marilyn) of Camden and Bill Wilburn of Indianapolis; three daughters, Mary Bell Dye of Albuquerque, N.M., Ruth Wilburn of Monticello, and Rosie Babb of Rockfield; a brother, Bob Tribbett (wife: Nell) of Logansport; 10 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
