Attempted child abduction

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent child abduction near Prymont that was reported June 20. The incident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m.

A child reported that a white male in his mid-twenties wearing a school bus yellow shirt and driving a full-size black or dark gray pick-up truck attempted to get her into the truck and go for a ride.

"We're looking into another incident in Tippecanoe County that might be connected to this one," Det. Steve Mullin said.

"The girl left the area quickly when approached, which was the correct thing to do," Mullin added. "That act may have saved her from being abducted."

The alleged perpetrator left the area and traveled west on CR550S from the four-way stop in Pyrmont.
