ISP issues May statistics

Indiana State Police at the Lafayette Post have released statistics for May. Troopers issued 1,396 traffic citations and wrote 528 traffic warnings. Troopers also arrested 25 drunk drivers and made 39 criminal arrests.

They also issued 299 truck citations, inspected 107 commercial motor vehicles, investigated 50 vehicle crashes, made 16 crash arrests, and proved 96 calls for service.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, working from the Lafayette Post, worked 17 new cases and assisted the troopers in total criminal arrests.

The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division at the Lafayette Post inspected 61 commercial motor vehicles and placed 17 out-of-service for safety violations. A total of 17 arrests were made by the Motor Carrier Officers and 3,400 trucks crossed the scales at the weigh station on I-74 near the 19 mile marker.
