Fireworks set on the 4th

Flora, Burlington, and Delphi announce their plans for the Fourth of July, including fireworks.

Flora's fireworks, sponsored by the Town of Flora, will begin at dusk at the Flora Community Park. (Rain date will be July 5.) Preceding the fireworks will be a Gospel Fest from 6 to 9:30 p.m., sponsored by the Flora First Christian Church. Featured performers will be Neal Clawson, Scott Greeson, Malachi Jaggers, Vickie Maris, and the Gospel- Tones. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Picnic food will be available from the Flora Ministerial Association.

Burlington's fireworks, sponsored by the Burlington Community Club, will begin at dusk at the Burlington Park. Other activities are planned before the fireworks. A hog roast, games, musical entertainment, and nickel pitch will all begin at 5 p.m. A bubble gum blowing contest, hula hoop contest, and other activities will go from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Delphi's fireworks will be at dusk at the high school football field. They are sponsored by the Delphi Chamber of Commerce. Rain date for the fireworks will be July 5. Delphi's Independence Day activities continue the following weekend with a parade on July 7 and Canal Days on July 7 and 8.
