Frankfort man wins 29th annual Hog Jog

Twenty-one-year-old Jesse Cacy of Frankfort was the 2007 winner of the 10K Hog Jog. His winning time was 34:01.

The first female across the line was Katie Hollingsworth, 18, of Kokomo. She was clocked at exactly ten minutes behind Cacy.

In the two-mile run, the overall winner was Kyle Overway, 14, of Logansport. His time was 10:58. The overall female winner was Kelby Jenkins, 15, of Frankfort, with a time of 13:58.

The runt jog for children ages 4 to 7 is a non-competitive race. All participants received a blue ribbon and ice cream cone.

Flora Lions Club has chaired the event for the past two years. Lions President Susan Shively said that the numbers were up for Hog Jog with over 500 runners, walkers and runt joggers registering.

She explained that the 10K run is on a certified course with chip timing provided by End Result in Carmel, who has been timing the event for the past several years.

"Everything went smoothly and we had a lot of compliments," Shively added.

Also helping the club with the Hog Jog were the Flora Volunteer Fire Department, police, EMTs, Flora Psi Iota Xi, and community volunteers.
