Deana J. Kirk Deana J. Kirk, 49, of Lafayette, passed away June 13, 2007, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, after a four-year struggle with cancer. Born July 11, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert and Geraldine Arney. Her marriage was to Stephen R. Kirk on May 29, 1993, in Delphi, and he survives. Mrs. Kirk managed Inter- State-Studio in North Central Indiana along with her husband. She had been a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Delphi since 1989. Her interests were traveling and gardening. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Mrs. Kirk also enjoyed watching her girls play softball and spending time with her children and family. Surviving with her husband are her parents; four daughters, Kim, Kristin, Kara and Kayla Haas, all of Lafayette; three stepchildren, Brandon Kirk of Fishers, Paige Karberg (husband: Jon) of Colburn and Sara Kirk of Lafayette; two sisters, Robin Arney of Chesterfield Township, Mich. and Tamy Denter (husband: Russ) of Traverse City, Mich.; a brother, Kelly Arney (wife: Julie) of Bardstown, Ky.; four grandchildren, Aldan, Jackson, Leyton and Ethan; a granddaughter, Jamison, expected to be born soon; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held June 18 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel (www.sollerbaker. com), 400 Twyckenham Blvd., officiated by Pastor Dale Larson. Interment was at Meadow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the research efforts of Dr. Andrew Evens at Northwestern University.
