Delphi Psi Otes to attend convention
Comet staff report

Mary VanSickle and Rita Clark will represent Delphi's Beta Psi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi sorority as delegates at the 104th Annual National Convention to be held June 22-24 in Fort Wayne.

Locally, members raise funds by selling cheeseballs and other activities. The club supports many local organizations, including schools, libraries, individual student scholarships and other community endeavors in the fields of art, music, literature, and speech and hearing.

The convention theme is "Lighting the Way."

There are approximately 3,600 members of Psi Iota Xi, representing 131 active chapters from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.

During the convention, Van- Sickle and Clark will participate in voting to allocate philanthropic money to several ongoing projects in the areas of speech and hearing, art, music and literature.

A highlight of the convention will be the awards dinner, during which individual chapters will be honored for their accomplishments.

Last year, the chapters, state associations, and national organization of Psi Iota Xi collectively donated more than $1 million to charitable causes.

Approximately 30 area residents currently comprise the Delphi chapter.
