Library Flora-Monroe Township Cool off in the library while you attend a movie matinee, "Toby Tyler, or Ten Weeks with the Circus" this Friday, June 22, at 1 p.m. "Toby Tyler" takes you back in time to the day when the circus coming to town was the biggest day of the year. This classic story based on the book by James Otis tells the story of a little orphan boy who runs away to join the circus, only to learn, unhappily, that his new employer is a cruel taskmaster. "Circus" is a story that will tug on the heartstrings of children of all ages as they enter the world of an oldtime traveling circus. Mark your calendars for Preschool Patriotic Fun with Miss Deb on July 3. Celebrate the Fourth of July with Deb Foreman of Flora's United Methodist Church Playschool. There will be stories, a fun craft and of course- a parade! Last chance to create circus themed art in the "It's All About the Circus!" art classes. Taught by Grace Woodruff, the last series of classes are on Tuesday June 26 for kids and Thursday evening June 28 for adults. Inspired by the circus, the projects will be completed during the session. Registration is required and class size is limited. Stop by the main desk or call the library, 967-3912 for more information. Art classes were made possible through grants provided by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation and the Carroll County Community Foundation. Delphi Stargazers Children's Theatre production will present "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" July 21 and 22 in the DCHS Little Theatre. The play is based on the classic children's book by Ronald Dahl. Notable roles will be played by Susannah Germond, Kendall Baker, Grace Currie, Elisa Germond, Eli Darling, Shelby Hudelson, Chandler Underhill, Bridget Floyd, Grant Price, Jordan Hudelson, Taylor Hudelson, Emily Layman, Hannah Darling and Hilary Cripe. Teens are invited to a Teen Mystery at the library June 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will prove to be one of intrigue, mystery and murder that teens won't want to miss. Call children's librarian Marcia Sledd to sign up. It is time to dig through your closets and rummage through your old video games and bring them to the Delphi Public Game Swap. If you have played the same game a hundred times, then the Game Swap on July 6 at 4 p.m. is a great chance to improve your game collection. Bring old Play Station, Game Boy or video games to have fun exchanging with game enthusiasts. For more information contact the library at (765) 564-2929. |
