Getting closer Last Friday, Dan McCain (left) and Roy Patrick moved the first parts of the Stearns iron bridge to the site where the bridge will be erected. The bridge will span the canal off Bicycle Bridge Road, near Pizza Hut. Workers are expecting to move the bridge into place by mid-to-late summer. Once in place, the flooring will be laid, using 7-foot white oak logs donated by Pike Lumber Company. Comet photo by Jennifer Archibald
