Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9383 and American Legion Post #75 stand at attention and salute while deteriorated United States flags are burned during a ceremony on Flag Day, June 14. Representatives from both organizations said public response to flag drop-off locations has been tremendous. "The drop box in front of the Legion (on Washington St., Delphi) is usually more than half full when we empty it every two weeks," Legion Commander Rex Wilson said after the ceremony. "A lot of residents have asked what to do with old flags and we're glad we can offer a solution." Comet photo by Kevin Schnepp
