Griffey, Brey pledge vows
Candace Griffey and Gregory "Jake" Brey were united in marriage on May 25 at
the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico. Thirty family members and friends from
the United States attended the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael Griffey of Delphi, and Elizabeth Martin
of Lafayette. Parents of the groom are Thomas and Eldonna Brey of New Ulm, Minn.
The bride and her father were transported by horse and buggy to the wedding
gazebo overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Judge Benito Juarez, of Cancun first
performed the civil ceremony as required by Mexican law. Kolade Orelaja, an
evangelical minister from Cancun, then performed the religious wedding ceremony.
Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Sonia Griffey Rosenthal, of
Milwaukee, Wisc. Anita Molacek, of Latvia, was bridesmaid.
Best man was Thomas Brey, farther of the groom. Mike Molacek of Colorado was
groomsman.
Flowers girls were Janice and Marisa Griffey of Delphi, sisters of the bride,
and Anna Schmidt of Vadnais Heights, Minn., niece of the groom. Ring bearer was
Wesley Griffey of Delphi, brother of the bride. The groom's nephew, Aaron
Schmidt of Vadnais Heights, Minn., was an escort.
The bride attended Delphi and Lafayette schools, graduating from Lafayette
Jefferson High School in 1996. Following graduation, she worked for the YMCA of
the Rockies in Estes Park, Colo. For the past several years she has been
employed by a financial institution in Boulder, Colo.
The groom is an architect who designs and constructs luxury homes in the
Boulder area. He is the owner of All Adonai Custum Homes.
Following an extended honeymoon in Cancun, the couple is residing in
Westminster, Colo.
